Christianization Resisting Tribal Durga Puja, Forgotten Century Old Religious Revolt Being Revived By Hindusamaj Kalyan Samiti (HSKS)

The same incident repeated when Englishman L.O Scraps started converting the indigenous/ adivasi people into Christianity taking the advantages of their poverty by setting up a Mission " Indian Home  Mission for Santhals"  around Village Sulunga in Birbhum District of West Bengal closed to State Jharkhand.

They only get food after converting into Christianity.

The earth simplicity Indigenous people revolted and wanted to stop conversion to protect religion and culture.

In 1888 they regrouped and decided to invoke the strength and blessings of Goddesses

Durga for saving religion. They performed Durga Puja and took the holy vow. For the first time in the history of India people witnessed such revolt to save religion. For some unknown reason the glorious history being forgotten. Even  famous historian Ramesh Chandra Mazumdar indicated the incident. Here  the Deity sits on Tiger not Lion. 

According to the villagers they slaughter only White Goat which symbolizes Christian postor.

"The village is struggling for 132  years. Surrounding villages are also slowly and silently getting under the grasp of missionaries. Hindu society must come here and help us in this effort. Otherwise our religion would be extinct. We are happy that Hindusamaj Kalyan Samiti has come to help us." Says Susama Tudu  the wife the priest after welcoming us in a traditional tribal grand manner. She also said that the State Government Puja Grant has helped a lot. As a goodwill gesture on behalf of Hindusamaj Kalyan Samiti on 21st October 202 Snehasis Mondal , Arnab Panda, Bishnu Mandal, Chandrakant Paswan, Jay Sutradhar gifted 100 sarees to commemorate century long forgotten historical religious revolt. Due to the Calcutta High Court judgement on puja we had to restrict our programme. We took leave with the message  Hindusamaj Kalyan Samiti is always with You to stop conversion.

খ্রীষ্টানীকরনের প্রতিরোধী আদিবাসী দূর্গাপূজায় বস্ত্রদানের মাধ্যমে ময়দানে নামলো HSKS

    লোভ ও ভয় দেখিয়ে খ্রীষ্টানীকরনের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই চলছে 1888 সাল থেকে অর্থাৎ ভারত স্বাধীনতা লাভের অনেক আগে থেকেই। গতকাল মহাপঞ্চমীর দিন বস্ত্রদানের মাধ্যমে হিন্দুসমাজ কল্যাণ সমিতি(HSKS) ময়দানে নামলো। এই কাজের প্রেরণা ছিলেন হিন্দুহৃদয় সম্রাট পূজনীয় তপন কুমার ঘোষ মহাশয় এবং ইচ্ছাশক্তি ছিলো শ্রদ্ধেয় স্নেহাশিস মণ্ডল মহাশয়ের।

    1888 সালে ইংরেজ L.O. Scraps এখানকার আদিবাসীদের চরম দারিদ্র্যের সুযোগ নিয়ে "ইন্ডিয়ান হোম মিশন ফর সানতালস" নামক মিশনের মাধ্যমে আদিবাসীদের খ্রিস্টান ধর্মে ধর্মান্তরিত করছিলেন। সেই খ্রীষ্টানীকরনের চক্রান্তকে ব্যর্থ করে দিতে এই গ্রামের বীর আদিবাসী মানুষেরা একজোট হয়ে আছেন। তখন থেকেই এই লড়াইয়ের সাফল্যের জন্য মা দুর্গার পুজো করে আসছেন এবং মায়ের কাছে আশীর্বাদ প্রার্থনাও করেন। আপনারা আরো অবাক হয়ে যাবেন, এখানের মা দুর্গা ব্যাঘ্রবাহিনী এবং বলি দেওয়া হয় একমাত্র সাদা পাঁঠাকে । এখানে সাদা পাঁঠা হলো সাদা চামড়ার প্রতীক । অর্থাৎ খ্রীষ্টানরা ছিলো সবাই সাদা চামড়ার, সেই কারনে এই অশুভ শক্তিকে পরাভূত করার জন্যই এই সাদা পাঁঠা বলি দেওয়ার প্রথা শুরু হয়েছে।

এই গ্রামের (শুলুঙ্গা  বীরভূম)অর্ধেক আদিবাসী মানুষেরা চক্রান্তের শিকার হয়ে খ্রিস্টান ধর্মে ধর্মান্তরিত হয়েছেন। বাকি আছেন মাত্র 100 টি পরিবার, যাঁরা এখনও নিজের ধর্মে অটল। কিন্তু এরা কতদিন আর এই অসম্ লড়াইয়ে টিকে থাকতে পারবে জানিনা! অনেক সময় অর্থের অভাবে এই দূর্গাপুজো বন্ধও হয়ে যায়। ওখানের স্থানীয় মানুষেরা HSKS কর্মীদের আরো বলেন, এইবছর দূর্গাপূজা করতে খুবই সুবিধা হয়েছে সরকারি অনুদান পাওয়ায় জন্য। এখানে অনেক মন্দিরের ছাদ নেই অর্থের অভাবে, সেই অবস্থায় চলছে পূজো। হিন্দুসমাজ কল্যাণ সমিতি(HSKS) পক্ষথেকে একশোটি(100) বস্ত্রদান করা হয়। যাতে আদিবাসী সম্প্রদায় তাঁর মহান হিন্দুআদিবাসী ধর্ম রক্ষা করতে ভরসা পান এবং যাতে এই উৎসবের দিন গুলি উৎসব মুখর হয়ে উঠতে পারে। আশেপাশের গ্রামগুলিতে ব্যাপকভাবে খ্রীষ্টানীকরনেরপ্রক্রিয়া চলছে বলে জানান এলাকার মানুষেরা। এই গ্রামেরই এক মহিলা সুষমা দি বললেন আপনারা যদি এই গ্রামে আর না আসেন এবং যোগাযোগ না রাখেন দেখবেন একের পর এক গ্রাম ধর্মান্তরিত হয়ে যাবে। কারন, আমরা একা আর লড়াই করে উঠতে পারছিনা। হিন্দুসমাজ কল্যাণ সমিতি(HSKS) কথা দিয়েছেন, এই গ্রাম গুলোর সঙ্গে প্রতিনিয়ত যোগাযোগ রেখে চলবেন এবং মন্দির সংস্কারের কাজে যথাসাধ্য সাহায্য করবেন। এই প্রতিশ্রুতি শোনার পরে গ্রামবাসীরা খুবই খুশি হন এবং ধর্ম রক্ষার জন্য শপথ গ্রহণ করেন।

এখানকার নায়িকা বাবা ( পূজারী) যিনি সাঁওতালি ভাষায় নিজের মতো করে পুজো করেন তিনি বললেন - যে জাতি ধর্ম ও সংস্কৃতি হারিয়ে ফেলে সে জাতি তাড়াতাড়ি নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যায়। আমাদের এই দারিদ্রতার সুযোগ নিয়ে আমাদেরকে ধ্বংস করার চেষ্টা করে চলেছে কিছু খ্রিস্টান মিশনারী।  আপনারা আমাদের ধর্ম বাঁচানোর জন্য সহযোগিতা করুন।

      এই ধর্মরক্ষা দুর্গাপূজায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন হিন্দুসমাজ কল্যাণ সমিতির(HSKS) পক্ষথেকে শ্রদ্ধেয় স্নেহাশিস মণ্ডল মহাশয়, ক্যানিং এলাকার দ্বায়িত্বে শ্রদ্ধেয় বিষ্ণু মন্ডল মহাশয় , ঢোলা থানা এলাকার শ্রদ্ধেয় অর্নব পাণ্ডা মহাশয় ও দূর্গাপুর এলাকার চন্দ্রকান্তা জয় পাশোয়ান মহাশয়। উপস্থিত ব্যাক্তিগন নিজ হাতে বস্ত্র গুলি তুলে দেন এলাকা বাসীর হাতে । খুবই আনন্দের বিষয় হলো পূজা কমিটি ও আদিবাসী সমাজের পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মঝিবাবা ও নায়িকে বাবা।
